Google’s Panda update

Posted by Mike | Tuesday, June 28, 2011 | Internet Marketing, Search Engine Optimisation |

So what is Google’s Panda update? It basically rewards quality sites and pushes them up the rankings.

Having a well optimised site with unique content and quality back links is no longer enough!

A site needs to be engaging. Google looks at quality indicators such as time on site, page views per visit, bounce rate, click through rate from search results, the number of likes/tweets/+1 (social indicators).

More than ever, the design and user experience of a site is crucial. Engaging content (articles, video, images, etc) play an important role. The social integration is vital.

SEO success now relies on a team effort (UX, design, development, marketing, etc) more than ever and not on just how well optimised a site is and the number of back links.
